Social Distancing Vacation Ideas

It’s almost 3 years since the severe impact from COVID-19 and there is now a bigger demand than ever for travel bookings. People are hoping for normalcy, or at least safety while traveling. We have learned from the pandemic that the future is unpredictable. Let’s start 2022 with amazing social distancing vacation ideas.

The effects of Covid-19 on travel have been more than just cancellations or postponing. Many people are having a new realization that life is short and dreams should not be put off. I can attest to that after being hospitalized for 30 days and on my deathbed. The time is now.

For most of us, there are regular vacations and yearly opportunities, however, people in the travel industry are seeing a major shift in the attitudes of people who are re-prioritizing bucket lists. Maybe 2022 will be the year of big dream trips. I know it has started that way for me, especially seeking off-the-beaten-path destinations to escape the crowds.

Social Distancing Vacation Ideas

The Wonders of South America

Exploring amazing landscapes and activities is top on the list of South America. Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, and Peru focus on outdoor adventures, local cuisine, and South American wines. Look into guided excursions including hikes, bike rides, horseback, water-based trips, and more, with many offerings to choose from daily. Ready to explore some of the most beautiful places on earth?

One of the most famous destinations on Patagonia’s bucket lists is visiting Chile’s Torres del Paine National Park. Another favorite is exploring the extraordinary cultural heritage of Easter Island. This place is full of natural beauty, extinct volcanoes, lava tunnels and caves, a rugged coastline of cliffs, and hidden bays. Don’t miss exploring the ruins and attractions of Machu Picchu.

Social Distancing Vacation Ideas

Tahiti, French Polynesia

When the world was shut down, I was looking at the most remote places to escape with the lowest case numbers.

This is truly one of the most dreamy places. From the second you step off the plane, you will literally be blown away. People typically arrive in French Polynesia and use Air Tahiti to island-hop, which is the best option. If you fly to Bora Bora, catch a flight early in the morning so you can enjoy the entire day. The properties in Bora Bora are meant to completely unplug, so chill out and enjoy this place like no other.

TIP – If you are planning to island-hop make sure you pack light.

Social Distancing Vacation Ideas

The Maldives

Ready to experience the brighter side of life? Look no further than the Maldives. An island in the Indian Ocean situated between Africa, Asia, and Australia far from it all. Getting there will take time, but it’ll be well worth it as you are welcomed to amazing beaches and properties. Activities include; unforgettable snorkeling and scuba diving opportunities. The unique stays are endless and we can even book you at an overwater hotel room.

Social Distancing Vacation Ideas

Culebra, Puerto Rico

You won’t want to miss the tiny island of Culebra and the famous Flamenco Beach. The ultimate paradise and seclusion at Zoni Beach is a place where there are no resorts or restaurants, meaning more nature, sunshine, and solitude.

Social Distancing Vacation Ideas

Social Distancing in Lanai, Hawaii

The smallest inhabited island travelers can visit in Hawaii is situated just nine miles off of the west coast of Maui. Lanai offers luxe resorts, rugged land, water experiences, off-roading, diving, and horseback riding.

Social Distancing Vacation Ideas

Iceland

Recently reopened, Iceland is another unique island destination featuring unbelievable nature. From travelers chasing the northern lights, Iceland portrays its stunning volcanic landscape, incredible waterfalls, glaciers, and lagoons. The most famous being the Blue Lagoon, a geothermal spa that’s become one of the most visited sites in the country.

Social Distancing Vacation Ideas

White Sands National Park, New Mexico

Off-the-beaten-path 50 miles from Las Cruces, New Mexico, you will discover a vast serene landscape. The white sand dunes cover miles of the Chihuahuan desert, and the National Park protects over half of the dunes. The sands are unique here because they are composed of the mineral gypsum, which gives them their uniquely white color. This is a true hot spot for Instagrammers in the middle of nowhere. Even better, pets are allowed, but keep them on a leash.

With so many remote places to escape away to, there are endless possibilities to keep the art of wanderlust a reality. However, times are still funky so there is still a lot to know before jet setting. We highly recommend booking through a Fora Travel Advisor to work with the experts who get your vibe. Let’s book your dream trip together – all while unlocking exclusive perks and upgrades. What’s better than ensuring safety and peace of mind, while checking off your bucket list of dream destinations.
