Where To Stay

Palm Springs Girls Getaway

There are endless amazing places to stay while visiting Palm Springs for your girlfriend’s getaway weekend. From modern airbnbs to trendy hotels, there is something for everyone.

Luxury Stays

When it comes to luxe options, you’ll be spoiled for choice in Palm Springs. Here is a couple of the best of the best that places will leave you feeling pampered at every step because each stay has its own uniqueness.

The Parker Palm Springs: has been described as “hippie chic,” however its blend of periods reflects the Mod Sixties and the feel-good Seventies. Everything about The Parker makes it easy to see the appeal. From every detail of decor to the pink of the bellhops’ uniforms, and the inclusion of old-school games such as croquet and pétanque, alongside the classic red clay tennis courts. Not to mention a five-star diner at Norma’s.

With golf all around, a multitude of pools, and a spa, the icing on the cake is Palm Springs Yacht Club. If you need, even more, you can stay in the original Gene Autry house — but even the standard rooms are interesting enough.

Mid-Range

Looking to treat yourself, but not break the bank? Strike a balance of comfort and value in these great spots.

Dive Palm Springs: Do you just adore the 1960s French Riviera vibe? If so The Dive Palm Spring is the newest boutique hotel just perfect for you.

Budget

The Saguaro Hotel: is definitely the trendy, colorful property you’ve probably seen all over Instagram. It’s a budget hotel, but the vibe here is FUN all the time! I’ve stayed at The Saguaro Hotel in Scottsdale, which also offers the full on spring break party scene.

Palm Desert

Shadow Mountain Resort & Club: Are you looking to stay out of the Palm Springs area at a quieter destination? The Shadow Mountain Resort is the perfect place because it offers a lot for everyone. Surrounded by golf & tennis, within walking distance of the high-end town of Palm Desert with designer stores and a variety of eateries, look no further. This is the perfect place to stay if you are on a Palm Springs Girlfriends Getaway because you can rent a multiple-bedroom condo with a full kitchen.

Things to do

Palm Springs Girls Getaway

SHOPPING & EATING

Downtown is best explored on foot during your Palm Springs girls getaway. Take a day to wander the cafes, restaurants, and boutiques of Palm Canyon Drive or you can rent a bike to explore the area. From Palm Springs to Palm Desert, you can shop and eat your heart out. Here you will discover fun boutiques, high-end and designer shops.

HIKING

If you are one for the outdoors, plan to spend a day at Joshua Tree National Park. The hiking is endless and the views continue on forever. Do you want to keep your outdoor adventures close by? If so, there are a number of trails around the Palm Springs and Palm Desert area. Explore the Coachella Valley (like Indio, La Quinta, Palm Desert), you’ll want to rent a car. If you are planning to stick close to the city though, it’s not necessary for a quick visit.

RESORT LIFE

I highly recommend taking a full day to completely unwind. Play a little tennis, golf, get a spa treatment, or simply enjoy delicious cocktails by the poolside. (Ours drinks were delivered by skateboard!)

TRAM

Take a ride up the tram to get the impeccable views, but be prepared that it can be a bit chilly up there. The temperature drops substanially, so bring your layers. (especially if you visit during Cochella in April)

MUSEUM

When visiting the downtown Palm Springs, make sure to head over to the Palm Springs Art Museum. On your way you will discover the iconic Marilyn Monroe statue that is definitely worthy of an Instagram photo!

MOORTEN BOTANICAL GARDENS

These botanical gardens are well worth the visit! Especially if you are a desert plant lover like myself? This is a great group activity for your Palm Springs Girls Getaway. I had no idea the variety of plants that exist. It is only a short walk, but your will be mezmorized by all the interesting cacti.

Eat & drink

Cheeky’s: This spot is famous for its “bacon flight” and organic egg benedicts. Be sure to try their incredible java and famous cinnamon rolls.

Sherman’s: Ready for a completely different kind of meal. If you love a New York deli -style family restaurant, you’ve hit the jackpot!

Norma’s: Enjoy the brightly colored open-air terrace restaurant serving breakfast all day and night.

Farm: Looking for a quaint French-inspired menu in a gorgeous garden setting, this is the place to be.

Tommy Bahama’s: In the perfect spot located right in the middle of Palm Springs, The Marlin Bar has a relaxed laid-back outdoor space complete with umbrellas, mist on hot days, and heaters on cool evenings. After a day of retail therapy, this is the ideal spot to take in the vibrant energy of downtown Palm Springs.

Guiseppes Pizzeria: If you’re a lover of Chicago-style pizza like myself, this is a great spot for a low-key dinner full of yumminess!

Mr. Parker’s: Dark, discreet, and decadent with over-the-top decor. Not to mention a wine list that will literally blow your mind.

Bootlegger Tiki: A craft cocktail spot is perfect for finding discovering your new faves.

El Jefe: Happy Hour tacos and margs at The Saguaro Hotel’s restaurant.

Day trip

Be sure to set a day aside during your Palm Springs Girls Getaway to visit Joshua Tree National Park. It is well worth the visit whether for a drive-through or by foot adventure. There are endless trails to explore and diverse terrain, which takes up a full day. Make sure you have plenty of water, a variety of layers of clothing, and a snack in hand. Unfortunately, there is not much around the area in the way of food. After a full day of hiking, we hit the Joshua Tree Saloon for yummy fish tacos and a cocktail. Right next door is a cute gift store to pick up all your souvenirs.

Need to know

There is a lot to do while on a Palm Springs Girls Getaway therefore, three days was definitely not enough time to explore it all. I look forward to our annual girl’s trip to explore more in Palm Springs!
